12. Activities on protection of environment carried out by SWOAD.

In pursuance of project taken up by SWOAD organization on environment protection and of carrying out activities with financial support provided by EU-UNDP, a program was facilitated by Mr. Y.Sugendraraj , the Project officer to keep the coastal area of Pandiruppu clean through activities of removing wastes and creating awareness at community level. It has been taken up according to discussion conducted with Mr. K.Lavanathan, the Divisional; Secretary of Kalmunai Tamil division, Mr. S.Sivam, the Samurdhi Management Head and the Mr. Mithiran, Grama Seveka administrative officer. This program was started on 24.08.2017 from 7am to 9am  in front of the Pandiruppu Sivan Kovil going up to the sea beach of Pandiruppu Vishnu Temple. Mr. V.Rajeswaran, Assistant Manager of Samurdhi Zone and the Development officers including , Mrs.Elil Arasi and  Mrs. Sivakumari as well as Mr. Y.Sugendraraj, the Project officer participated at this program. Also 125 beneficiaries of  Samurdhi assistance took part at this program.
